Co-District Lumding Inaugurated, marking a historic step in Assam’s administration

HOJAI, Oct 5: The inauguration of Co-District Lumding under Hojai District took place on Saturday, led by Smt Nandita Garlosa, Minister of Power, Sports, and Youth Affairs.

 The event was held at the Udali Block Development Office in Bamungaon and attended by notable dignitaries, including Sibu Mishra, MLA of Lumding LAC, Ramkrishna Ghosh, MLA of Hojai LAC, and other officials like Bidyut Bikash Bhagawati, ACS, District Commissioner of Hojai, and Joy Shankar Sharma, ACS, Co-District Commissioner.

During her address, Minister Garlosa described the inauguration as a significant historic step, emphasizing that it would greatly enhance Assam’s administrative system and directly benefit grassroots communities. She praised Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his relentless efforts toward the overall upliftment of the state.

The program saw a strong turnout despite incessant rain, with hundreds of locals and BJP volunteers in attendance. The event also included participation from all Chairpersons of the four municipal boards—Hojai, Lanka, Lumding, and Doboka—as well as additional district commissioners, the additional superintendent of police, assistant commissioners, circle officers, BDOs, executive officers, and heads of various line departments.

The establishment of Co-District Lumding is expected to streamline governance and improve public service delivery in the region, marking a positive step forward for the local population.
