Comprehensive review meeting for the upcoming Panchayat poll held

TEZPUR, April 13: In connection with the forthcoming Panchayat Election 2025 in Sonitpur district, and as per the directions of the Assam State Election Commission, the designated Election Observers held a comprehensive review meeting recently at the Conference hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Sonitpur.

Bhupesh Chandra Das, Joint Secretary, Skill, Employment and  Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Assam, has been appointed as the Election Observer for Missamari, Phulaguri, Dekargaon, Bihaguri, Parbatia, and Thelamara ZPCs.  Bhaskar Das, Joint Secretary, Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Government of Assam, is the Election Observer for Borgaon, Bhomoraguri, Phulbari, Haleswar, Mansiri, and Balipara ZPCs. 

Kanta Das, Joint Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam, has been assigned as the Election Observer for Doomdooma, Panbari, Amiyapur, and Gupteswar ZPCs under Dhekiajuli Co-District. Mukut Phukan, Additional Secretary, Printing & Stationery Department, Government of Assam, is overseeing the Chariduar, Nagsankar, Murhadol, and Jamuguri ZPCs under Naduar Co-District.

The meeting was held in the presence of District Commissioner Ankur Bharali along with Superintendent of Police, Barun Purkayastha, District Development Commissioner, Lakhinandan Saharia, Co-District Commissioners of Naduar and Dhekiajuli, all Cell-Incharges for the election, Zonal Officers, and other key officials.


During the meeting, the observers reviewed the preparedness of various election-related cells such as Expenditure Monitoring, Transport, Personnel and Training, Model Code of Conduct (MCC), Postal Ballot, Media, and others. They urged all involved to diligently perform their respective responsibilities to ensure a participatory, smooth, and successful Panchayat Election in Sonitpur district.
