Flying squad seizes Rs.4,32,100 in Morigaon

JAGIROAD, April 18: The flying squad deployed in Jagiroad Legislative Assembly constituency under Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency seized Rs 2,40,500 in cash from a man at Jagibhakatgaon Kadamtali under Jagiroad police station last night.

The man has been identified as Keshav Deka.

Another team seized Rs 100,000 from Arjina Begum, a woman in Bangaldhara under Dharamtul Police Station. The third flying squad seized Rs 91,600 in cash from Ajay Kumar Das at Kuranibari under Mayang Police Station on Wednesday night.

As per the Election Commission’s directives, if a candidate, any agent of the candidate or party worker is seized with a vehicle worth more than Rs 50,000 in cash or carrying drugs, liquor, weapons or gifts worth more than Rs 10,000, such items will be confiscated.  The public is also required to carry appropriate documents to carry amounts exceeding Rs. 50,000.
