Government school teachers honoured in Nagaon

NAGAON, Sept 15: The Nagaon district unit of Sadou Asom Sarkari School Sewa Santha organised a felicitation program at Nagaon Govt Boys’ HS School on Friday. This event aimed to recognise and honour the exceptional contributions of several teachers from the district on the occasion of National Teachers Day.

During the program, the district unit of the organisation felicitated more than half a dozen distinguished teachers for their specific and commendable contributions to the field of education. The teachers who received this prestigious recognition are as follows: Rita Kakoti, principal of Nagaon Govt Girls HS School; Honey Bora, assistant teacher at Nagaon Govt Girls HS School; Kumkum Das, retired principal of Nagaon Urban High School; Jiban Ch Oja, retired assistant Teacher of Nagaon Urban High School; Kalpana Borthakur, assistant teacher at Nagaon Govt Boys’ HS School; Sheila Ahmed, assistant teacher at Nagaon Govt Boys’ HS School.

The program was chaired by Basanta Goswami, the principal of Nagaon Govt Boys’ HS School. Special invitees at the event included Dr Kishore Mohan Bhattacharya, a professor from the department of History at Gauhati University, and Prabhat Bora, a renowned Assamese literary critic and retired professor from Nowgong Girls’ College.

The event saw the participation of teachers from Nagaon Urban High School, Nagaon Govt Girls HS School, and Nagaon Govt Boys’ HS School. It served as a fitting tribute to these dedicated educators who have made significant contributions to the field of education in the region.
