MORIGAON, July 13: Morigaon district witnessed a joyous occasion on Thursday as the ‘griha pravesh’ ceremony took place for 12,489 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G). This auspicious event coincided with the house entry ceremony for over 300,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin across the state. The ceremony was organised to mark the successful implementation of the housing scheme.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Morigaon deputy commissioner Devashish Sharma, Morigaon Zila Parishad chief executive officer Kshitish Chandra Pegu, additional deputy commissioner, circle officers, and other senior officers of the district. The chief executive members of the Tiwa Autonomous Council, elected panchayat members, and other community representatives also participated in the housewarming ceremony, symbolising the collective efforts in ensuring affordable housing for all.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Information and Public Relations Officer in charge highlighted the successful completion of the housing projects and the positive impact they will have on the lives of the beneficiaries.
