Justice BP Saraf remembered through commemorative initiatives

GUWAHATI, May 17: On the occasion of the 12th death anniversary of Justice Dr BP Saraf, the International Human Rights Council, Guwahati Chapter, and Marwari Yuwa Manch, Abhayapuri, Balipara, Goreswar, Guwahti Amrit, Guwahati Uday Amrit, Hailakandi, Lakhipur, Makum, Nagaon, Roha, Silapathar, and Silchar Titans branches took out various programs to mark the occasion and pay tribute to the departed noble soul.

Food and beverages were distributed at Monalisa Society in Guwahati, Pramod Talukdar Old Age Home in Beltola, Missionary of Charity in Jalukbari & Shantipur, Moksha Old Age Home in Maligaon, TRP Road, Bhootnath, Jail Road, Railway Station, Paltan Bazar & Sarabhatti, and fed more than 1500 persons.

One wheelchair was donated to a person with disability in Narengi.

A patient suffering from cancer living in Dhirenpara was provided with medicine for one month.

One month dry raisins with other necessary items were donated to 5 old age & children’s homes namely – Gana Sarathi in Bamunimaidan, Blind School in Basistha, Dream Home in Rehabari, Mother Home in Boragaon, Helping Hands in Lalmati.

Feeds were also provided to Avinasa Prayas in Chandrapur, which is an animal shelter.

Stationery, sweets, and refreshments were provided to 350 students of Shankardev Vidya Niketan in Boragaon.

Marwari Yuwa Manch’s 12 branches distributed stationary, study materials, sweets, and refreshments to more than 3500 students in different locations in the state.

The entire project was sponsored by senior advocate Dr Ashok Saraf and advocate Birendra Saraf.
