MARGHERITA, April 11: In the remote area of Ledo Ring gaon, under ward no 6 of Ledo Hamukjaan Gaon Panchayat in 83rd Margherita Legislative Assembly constituency, lives Chadro Mura an indigenous Adivasi man whose story lays bare the hollow promises of progress.

As the drumbeats of development grow louder with the upcoming panchayat elections, Chadro Mura life remains untouched by the government lofty claims, a stark reminder that for some, hope is still a distant mirage.

For years, Mura has called a dilapidated hut barely distinguishable from a cowshed his home as he has been deprived of PMAY house, financial aid, subsidized rice, healthcare, and countless other schemes meant to uplift the marginalized, he stands as a living testament to systemic neglect, while the winds of change supposedly sweep through Margherita, they seem to bypass Chadro Mura doorstep entirely.

Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma, Hamukjaan Gaon Panchayat, Margherita Co-District Commissioner, and Margherita Block Development officer appear to have turned a blind eye to his plight.

“Four years ago, a glimmer of hope arrived in the form of a government-provided latrine, but without a water tank, it remains an unusable relic of unfulfilled promises as the tragedy deepened after the death of his wife, unable to access government ration rice, leaving me to scrape by on meager earnings,” said Chador Mura.

Mura’s life is an open book of sorrow, each page etched with hardship and abandonment as yet, he waits patiently, painfully for a touch of compassion for the government to see him, to hear him, to include him in the dream of development that seems reserved for a privileged few.

In Margherita, it appears that progress shines brightly only for MLA Bhaskar Sharma, a select members, leaders of BJP leaders, Hamukjaan gaon panchayat representative and the administrative elite under Margherita Co-District administration.

As the election fervor builds, Mura’s story demands to be heard a powerful call for accountability, for justice, and for a development that truly leaves no one behind, will his wait finally end, or will he remain a forgotten chapter in 83 no. Margherita constituency tale of neglect, said conscious people of Margherita.
