Margherita hosts M L Sah Memorial Drawing Competition

MARGHERITA, March 10: The Children’s Friends Club (NGO) Margherita, in collaboration with the Legal Awareness Network Centre Margherita, Janardan Art Academy Margherita, and Souradeep Art Academy Digboi, organised the M L Sah Memorial Prize Money Drawing Competition at the premises of Margherita Balya Bhawan School on Sunday.

The main motive behind organising the drawing competition is to raise awareness about child rights and to speak out against the atrocities committed against children in our society and nation, said Papu Sah, president of Children’s Friends Club (NGO) Margherita.

More than 50 students from nursery to class 10 participated in the prize money drawing competition and were divided into four groups.

Chura Giri, retired head of department of Sociology at Margherita College, Dr Mrinali Konwar, head of the department of Hindi at Margherita College, president of Margherita Journalist Association Ram Prasad Ambedkar, executive members Mithun Baruah and Zahid Ali, noted social workers of Margherita Ramesh Hatimuria and Om Prakash Sah, Margherita Balya Bhawan school teacher Amarjit Sengupta, senior citizen and social worker of Margherita Mukti Nath Gogoi, were present as resource persons at the prize distribution ceremony.

The winning participants were felicitated with a memento, appreciation certificate, and a cash prize.

Papu Sah, president of Children’s Friends Club (NGO) Margherita, informed that this program will continue at different places in Tinsukia district throughout the month of March.
