GUWAHATI, Sept 11: Narayan Chandra Borkataky, former Member of Parliament, joined as vice-chairman of the State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA), Assam, on Wednesday, at Janata Bhawan, Dispur. The government of Assam appointed him as the co-vice-chairman of SITA in the rank of cabinet minister, as per the government of Assam notification No. PDS/E-551063/835775 dated September 9, 2024.
Upon his joining, the chairman interacted with co-vice chairman Dhruba Prasad Baishya and chief executive officer of SITA, MS Manivannan, IAS. They discussed various responsibilities and expectations related to certain deliverables aimed at benefiting the state through good governance initiatives, with a focus on innovative ideas and policies that could transform the service delivery mechanism effectively. The State Innovation & Transformation Aayog, Assam, functions as the state’s version of the Centre’s policy think-tank, NITI Aayog. Borkataky also interacted with the officials and staff of SITA, expressing his vision to advance SITA’s role through more innovative and technological methodologies, while emphasising the socio-economic development of the state.
Meanwhile, chairman Narayan Chandra Borkataky was felicitated by co-vice chairman Dhruba Prasad Baishya, chief executive officer MS Manivannan, IAS, along with officials, staff of SITA, and well-wishers.
