HAMREN, Jan 12: The National Youth Day 2025 was successfully celebrated by ‘My Bharat: Nehru Yuva Kendra’, Diphu, Karbi Anglong, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
The event, held at Navodeep Higher Secondary School, Kheroni Charali, West Karbi Anglong, was organised in collaboration with the Social Development Organisation.
The program commenced with the traditional felicitation of guests and dignitaries with gamosas. The inauguration of the event was done by the Principal of Navodeep Higher Secondary School, Biresh Kr Prasad through a floral tribute and the ceremonial lighting of a traditional lamp in front of a portrait of Swami Vivekananda, paying homage to his inspiring legacy followed by other guests.
Bharat Sahu, assistant teacher at Pub Garubat Hari Teron High School, spoke about the contributions and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, emphasising his belief in the potential of youth to bring about positive societal change.
Dr Rajesh Kr Chauhan, head of the Hindi Department at Thong Nokbe College, Dokmoka addressed the gathering on the importance of National Youth Day and emphasised the crucial role young people play in shaping the future of society.
CEO of KAT News, Biren Enghee, spoke on the religious contributions of Swami Vivekananda. At the same time, the vice principal of Kapili College, Jeetendra Harijan, focused on the philosophical thoughts and messages of the great spiritual leader.
Sarkari Goanbura, Sabastian R Marak; Nagendar Thakur, and ex-NSV Dhanraj Harijan were present on the day as guests.
The event saw active participation from over 150 youths and students from Navodeep Higher Secondary School, local clubs, NGOs, and various community organisations, making it a successful and engaging occasion.
National Youth Day is observed every year on January 12, marking the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and is dedicated to honouring his vision for the empowerment of youth and their role in the nation’s development.
