GUWAHATI, Oct 5: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has reported steady growth in freight unloading on, ensuring the supply of essential and non-essential commodities across the states under its jurisdiction.
In September 2024, a total of 966 freight-carrying rakes were unloaded in various goods sheds, marking continued progress in the region’s logistics operations.
NF Railway facilitated the transportation of essential items such as FCI rice, food grains, sugar, salt, edible oil, and vegetables, as well as non-essential goods like coal, cement, fertilizer, and automobiles. Of the 526 rakes unloaded in Assam, 264 carried essential commodities. In other northeastern states, 64 rakes were unloaded in Tripura, 18 in Nagaland, 9 in Arunachal Pradesh, and 1 in Manipur. Additionally, 179 rakes in West Bengal and 169 rakes in Bihar were unloaded.
The continuous transportation of goods by N.F. Railway ensures that the needs of the local population are met while sustaining economic activity across all regions under its jurisdiction, contributing to an overall increase in freight movement and unloading.
