DIBRUGARH, June 2: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, as well as Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal, emphasised the critical importance of enabling youth with wisdom, empowering them with opportunities, and energising them with vision.

Addressing a gathering organised by the Dibrugarh District Committee of All Assam Sonowal Kachari Students Union (AASKSU) at Kacharibari, on Sunday, Sonowal underscored the transformative potential of the nation’s youth when equipped with the right tools and mindset.

The event also saw Sonowal felicitating students who excelled in the recently announced results of 10th and 12th standard exams from both state and central boards, acknowledging their hard work and achievements.

In his speech, Sonowal invoked India’s rich heritage and emphasised the need to harness its power to pave the way for a brighter future.

He further highlighted the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision in galvanising collective efforts toward national progress.

“I want to take this opportunity to highlight the innate power that our rich heritage has. Our youth must be enabled with wisdom, empowered with opportunities & energised with vision to effect changes that we desire to bring. India, for a long time, reeled under tumultuous misrule which affected our idea of the nation,” Sonowal added.

Sonowal also urged the youth to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s ideals of wisdom and service, emphasising the importance of building a strong nation through collective endeavor.

Recognising the pivotal role of young students in shaping the country’s future, Sonowal expressed confidence in their ability to drive the nation-building process forward with wisdom, strength, and determination.

He called upon the youth of the community to actively engage in education, culture, and sports to uphold this legacy.

“The Sonowal Kachari community has played a pivotal role in the broader Assamese nation-building process. The values of the dynamic culture and spiritual traditions have profoundly shaped the personalities of the Sonowal people, significantly impacting the social life of Assam,” he added.

The Union minister stressed the significance of mastering global knowledge through modern technology, underscoring the need for continuous learning and adaptation in today’s competitive world.

The event served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of meritorious students while reaffirming the commitment to nurturing the youth as the driving force behind India’s progress.
