Sathya Sai Baba’s 99th birthday celebrated

GUWAHATI, Nov 24: On the occasion of the 99th birthday of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on Saturday, the Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Guwahati, organised a grand celebration in the Sadhana Nilayam campus of Jorpukhuri, Uzan Bazar. The celebrations began with Suprabhatam and Omkaram, followed by Nagar Sankirtan at 4:30 am. At 8:30 am, the organisation’s flag was hoisted by state president Dr Gokul Chandra Das. The women devotees collected holy water at 9:00 am for Abhishekam. Ostottar Satanam and Lakhyarchana were performed at 10:00 am, followed by Abhishekam at 11:00 am.

Narayan Seva was conducted on the premises of Guwahati Railway Station and Sadhana Nilayam, Jorpukhuri, from 12:30 pm onwards. Cooked food was distributed to more than 1,800 people at both locations. A cake-cutting ceremony by Bal Vikas children took place at 4:30 pm, followed by Ved Path and Bhajans from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The birthday programme concluded with Mangala Arati at the Lotus Feet of the Divine Lord.
