KHERONI, Oct 28: A family dispute has caused shock in Mailoo Basti, under Kheroni Police Station in the hill district of West Karbi Anglong. Sushil Singh, a school teacher at Dhiklempur ME School, is accused of subjecting his wife to physical and mental abuse for many years. Allegations suggest that Sushil, who married two years ago, has been demanding dowry from his wife and abusing her.
Despite previously receiving Rs 5 lakh and a bike, Sushil allegedly continued to abuse his wife, demanding an additional Rs 1.5 lakh. Following an incident on October 23, a complaint was filed at the Mailoo Police Outpost. However, the family has alleged that the police have failed to register the case, raising concerns about a possible friendly relationship between Sushil and the police. Family members involved include Lalmohar Singh, father of Sushil Singh, and Munni Devi.
