‘Unity, Victory, and Prosperity Rally’ aims to promote government’s development schemes: Tuliram

DIPHU, Dec 21: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang said that the ‘Unity, Victory and Prosperity Rally’ was for taking the message of development schemes implemented by the government.

In the press conference held at Taralangso here, the CEM said the Rally was held after the decision was taken in a joint parliamentary meeting between KAAC and BJP.

“A decision was taken during a joint parliamentary meeting between Team Karbi Anglong and BJP party to reach out to the people about the poll promises made by our chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma in the last KAAC election, 2022. The CM has surveyed all the 26 Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) constituencies in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong during the last KAAC poll campaign and has given his assurance to develop road infrastructure and others,” the CEM added.

The CEM further said, “After the election, the CM visited Diphu to lay foundation stone for Rs 2,500 crores projects for Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. Among them were the Rs 920 crore road constructions under Asom Mala from Howraghat Tiniali to Hamren via Dongkamukam and from Rajagaon to Khanduli via Baithalangso, Tika and Hamren, the Rs 300 crore road constructions to connect Rongmongve and Balijuri from Dokmoka town. Road from Rajapathar to Jerikindeng via Dalimbari is under progress. As demanded by the people of Nilip, construction of a road from Chokihola to Borpung has been sanctioned.”

He also thanked the people for participating in the ‘Unity, Victory and Prosperity Rally’. Interestingly, in the rally opposition party workers and supporters of Congress, All Party Hills Leaders Conference and regional parties have merged with BJP.

CEM Ronghang further said the works will be completed two years before the state Assembly election.

“Executive Members (EMs) and MACs, CEM will meet the Sarkari Gaon Buras (SGBs) and Gaon Buras (traditional village headmen) and will ask them how many families or individuals in their jurisdiction have TET passed candidates and government employees. How many families have got ration cards, Ayushman Bharat health cards, Arunodhoi, PMAY houses, subsidised LPG gas under Randhan Jyoti scheme, PM Kishan card to farmers and rural pipe water connections in their villages,” he said.

Commenting on the bill payments to contractors, the CEM said, “We have made payments to those contractors who have completed works with Work Orders. But those contractors who have done the work without a work order will not get bills.”
