Woman and son arrested from Murmuria tea estate on charges of murdering her husband

JORHAT, May 18: A woman from Murmuria tea estate under Cinnamara police outpost, along with her minor son, was arrested on charges of murdering her husband on Friday night. A case No 284/2024 has been registered by the police in this connection.

A police source disclosed that the son, being a minor, was sent to the juvenile observation home, while the woman, Dipanjali Karmakar, was sent to jail on Saturday.

The source further added that Dipanjali Karmakar confessed to murdering her husband, Paluwan Suren, who worked as a mason and daily wager, due to frequent altercations that had been ongoing for several years.
