GUWAHATI, Oct 15: In a significant operation aimed at curbing transborder smuggling, the personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully apprehended an Indian smuggler attempting to traffic a large quantity of prohibited cough syrup to Bangladesh, the security forces announced on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at the Indo-Bangladesh border, where the BSF’s 138 Battalion acted swiftly to intercept the illegal activity.
As per reports, the smuggler was caught red-handed while attempting to transport the banned substance across the border.
Taking to the micro-blogging site X, BSF Guwahati stated, “In drive to combat transborder smuggling, alert #Bordermen of 138 Bn #BSF apprehended an Indian smuggler attempting to traffic prohibited cough syrup to Bangladesh at the Indo-Bangladesh border.”
BSF Guwahati further emphasized the role of their alert “Bordermen” in safeguarding the nation.
