Debashish Sarma takes charge as New Nagaon Deputy Commissioner

NAGAON, June 16: Debashish Sarma, the newly appointed District Commissioner (DC) of Nagaon, officially took charge of his office on Sunday, marking the beginning of his administrative tenure in the district.


Earlier in the day, a farewell ceremony was held at the office of the District Commissioner to bid adieu to the outgoing DC, Narendra Kumar Shah. The event was presided over by Manoj Kumar Chikariya, Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad.

During the ceremony, members of the district administration, heads of departments, and staff members of the DC’s office warmly felicitated Narendra Kumar Shah and expressed their appreciation for his leadership and contributions to the district. Many recalled their positive experiences and shared memories of working with him.


In his farewell speech, Shah extended his heartfelt thanks to the district officials and staff for their cooperation and support throughout his tenure. He also shared reflections on his time in Nagaon, highlighting the challenges and achievements during his service.


CEO Manoj Kumar Chikariya conveyed his best wishes to the outgoing DC, wishing him continued success and good health for him and his family in his future endeavors.


In the afternoon, Debashish Sarma formally assumed office as the new DC. According to an official press release, he was warmly welcomed by district officials and staff members.
The administration now looks forward to a new chapter under the leadership of Debashish Sarma.
