TEZPUR, Oct 18:Â Tezpur University inaugurated coaching classes for UPSC Civil Service Exam for Scheduled Caste (SC) students on Monday at the Council Hall of the university.
The coaching programme is spearheaded by Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE), Tezpur University and is sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India.
The inaugural event was set in motion with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Deba Kumar Mishra, deputy commissioner, Sonitpur district, Prof Dhruba Kumar Bhattacharrya, vice chancellor (in-charge), TU, Dr Biren Das, registrar, TU and Dr Rajeev Kumar Doley, nodal officer of the Centre.
Dr Doley gave the opening remarks and explained the objectives of the Centre. Prof Dhruba Kumar Bhattacharrya delivered the inaugural address where he encouraged the students to be stern in their UPSC preparation to become successful civil servants.
Deba Kumar Mishra emphasised that only hard work can bring fruitful results in the entrance exams.
Dr Biren Das closed the inaugural session with his concluding remarks while Nigar Sultana hosted the event.
