Adivasi organisations extend support to NDA candidate in Kokrajhar HPC

KOKRAJHAR, April 26: The Adivashi Welfare and Development Council (AWDC) and 12 organisations of Adivashi community including, the All Adivashi Students Association of Assam (AASAA) have extended their support to the NDA alliance candidate, Joyanta Basumatary for the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

A meeting of the Adivashi organisations was held at Chandrapara in Kokrajhar on Friday where leaders representing 13 organisations of the Adivashi community were present, and decided to extend their full support to Basumatary.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, chairman of the Adivashi Welfare & Development Council, Ashim Hasda informed that all organisations of the Adivashi community and AWDC have taken the resolution to extend full support the NDA alliance (BJP, AGP, UPPL) candidate in the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held on May 7 in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency.

He said that the Adivashi people in the state have attained the Adivashi Welfare and Development Council under the leadership of NDA alliance within the state.

“We are optimistic that the people of the Adivashi community in the state will get their due and development under the leadership of NDA alliance in the days to come as we hav achieved the existing AWDC council to work for their welfare,” Hasda said.

He also appealed to the common masses and people of the Adivashi community to vote in favour of Basumatary in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
