The students reportedly suffered from breathing problems and fainting spells during the ongoing Gunotsav at the school. They were promptly taken to the Ramkrishna Nagar Primary healthcare unit for treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest the cause of the incident was students skipping breakfast, leading to a mass hysteria, according to Mridul Yadav, District Commissioner, Karimganj. The school has subsequently cancelled the ongoing Gunotsav.
