TEZPUR, Aug 18: As part of the celebrations for the 78th Independence Day, Assam Rifles organised a ‘Mega Blood Donation Camp’ in collaboration with Rotary Club at Tezpur, Assam. The event underscored their deep commitment to providing assistance to those in need through blood donation. A total of 139 personnel from Assam Rifles stepped forward as blood donors, embodying the values of selflessness and patriotism. This initiative highlighted the importance of service to the country in all forms. By organising this camp, Assam Rifles emphasised the crucial role our forces play in building a compassionate society. Their efforts on the eve of Independence Day serve as an inspiring example of how the younger generation can actively contribute to the nation’s progress through humanitarian efforts. The drive stands as a tribute to the spirit of independence, reminding us all that the freedom we celebrate is intertwined with our collective responsibility to uplift and empower our fellow citizens.
In addition, the battalion participated in the parade during the centrally organised celebration at Judges’ Field. The event featured a drill alongside the Pipe Band of Assam Rifles, whose stirring music energised the crowd.
Earlier, on August 10, the battalion organised a tree plantation program to create awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. During the event, 1,000 saplings were planted by the jawans.
