KOKRAJHAR, March 31: Peoples from the Bodo community remembered the contribution and dedication of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former ABSU president on his 66th birth anniversary which was observed on Thursday at Thulungapuri Dotma Samadhi in Kokrajhar.
The anniversary was observed as Students’ Day and was organised by ABSU central committee in association with Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT).
ABSU president Dipen Boro hoisted the union flag followed by a floral tribute to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma on his tomb.
BTR executive member Daobaisa Boro and several leaders were present and offered floral tributes to the Bodofa.
ABSU president Dipen Boro said that Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma sacrificed his whole life for the welfare of the downtrodden communities including Bodo in the state of Assam and worked for their upliftment.
He said that the union has been observing the birth anniversary of Bodofa as Students’ Day every year on March 31 to keep alive the ideology and philosophy of Bodofa.
An open discussion on the contribution and dedication of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma was also held on the occasion. Former ABSU leaders, social intellectuals, leaders from different organisations also attended the programme.
