BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 3: An awareness programme on child marriage organised by the Village Defence Party (VDP) Samar Dalani in association with Sootea police station was held at Jharnapani LPS with Punya Nirola, retired headmaster in the chair on Monday.
Premlal Dahal, village headman of Samar Dalani explained the objectives. Bhabani Sarma, retired headmaster graced the awareness programme as an appointed speaker.

Addressing the gathering, Sarma explained about the adverse effects of child marriage on social life and the physical life of the mother child as well. He also explained about the legal provisions against those found involved in child marriage.
The programme was also addressed by Parbati Sarma, president of Dakhin Nagsankar GP, Sonit Bormudoi, headmaster of Jharnapani LPS, Samsul Haque, assistant teacher of Jharnapani LPS, Bhola Sarma, assistant teacher besides other dignitaries. The awareness programme was attended by Mother’s body, Anganwadi workers, village women and the general public.
