DEMOW, Dec 21: Dipshika Boruah, the accomplished daughter of Bidyadhar Boruah from Deodubi Gaon near Demow, recently participated in Japan’s Sakura Science Exchange Program. The initiative, organised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, Department of School Education and Literacy at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, took place from December 10 to December 16. Representing the state of Assam, Dipshika Boruah, along with four other students and a teacher guide, shared insights into their enriching experience.
When approached for comment, Dipshika Boruah provided details about the diverse participant group, which included 64 students from India, 20 from China, and 5 each from South Africa, Kenya, and Egypt. Describing the itinerary, she shared that on the first day, the participants explored the Tokyo Asakusa Temple and the National Museum of Nature and Science. The second day featured an orientation program at the Japan Science and Technology Agency Headquarters, followed by visits to the Miraikan Museum and Tokyo University.
The third day’s agenda included a visit to the National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT), where the students received instruction on wireless networks. Additionally, they had the opportunity to meet Sibi George, the ambassador of India to Japan, at the Embassy of India in Japan. Meikei High School welcomed the participants on the fourth day for a lecture program, and on the fifth day, they explored the Mitsubishi Minatomirai Industrial Museum, JAMSTEC, and Waseda University near Tokyo. The program concluded with a closing ceremony during which participants received certificates.
Dipshika Boruah highlighted the punctuality of the Japanese culture and expressed admiration for the kindness and humility demonstrated by the people of Japan.
