GUWAHATI, Aug 5: In line with a Supreme Court directive, the state government has extended the deadline for e-SHRAM registrants to apply for ration cards. Eligible individuals who registered on the e-SHRAM portal between August 2021 and August 2023 now have until August 10, 2024, to submit their applications.
The additional district commissioner in charge of Food Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs, Cachar, Kimchin Lhangum, highlighted that despite ongoing efforts, many eligible residents in Cachar district have yet to complete the necessary forms. All e-SHRAM registrants are encouraged to contact their local circle officers, block development officers, or municipal executive officers to submit their applications for new ration cards. Applications for adding names to existing cards are also being accepted at the District Commissioner’s Office in Silchar.
Additional district commissioner Kimchin Lhangum also urged eligible citizens to take advantage of this extension to ensure they receive the benefits to which they are entitled.
