DALGAON, Jan 23: A shocking and tragic incident occurred early Thursday morning in No 1/2 Baruajhar, under the jurisdiction of Dalgaon Police Station in Darrang, where a 70-year-old woman, Kamala Beowa, was brutally stabbed to death by a young man reportedly struggling with drug addiction.
According to eyewitnesses, the accused, identified as Nazrul Islam, a resident of the same village, attacked Kamala with a sharp object, known as ‘daao’, striking her on the forehead. The attack happened in the early hours of Thursday, sending shockwaves throughout the community and leaving residents in a state of distress.

Witnesses reported that the assailant fled the scene immediately after the attack. Kamala’s relatives rushed her to the hospital, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries on the way.
The Dalgaon police responded promptly to the incident, arriving at the scene and apprehending the suspect. Their swift action has been praised, and a thorough investigation into the matter is currently underway.
