This landmark event, conducted at the Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School campus, aimed to address child rights violations and promote welfare initiatives.
The bench was chaired by Dr Shyamal Prasad Saikia, IPS (retd), chairman of ASCPCR, alongside ASCPCR member Rilanjana Talukdar. Donphainon Thaosen, executive member of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, attended as the chief guest.
During his address, Thaosen praised the initiative, calling on departments to spread awareness about vital government schemes such as scholarships, financial aid, and the POCSO Act. He emphasised the importance of unified efforts to safeguard children’s rights across the district.
Dr Saikia underscored the need for government services to reach children in need, especially those facing challenges like missing documentation, disrupted education, or healthcare issues stemming from economic hardship or parental loss. He assured that the Commission would act promptly to address unresolved cases.
ASCPCR member Rilanjana Talukdar commended the significant public turnout and registrations for the camp. She expressed hope that this initiative would ensure greater awareness and protection of child rights in Dima Hasao, ensuring no child is denied their entitlements.

Rajdeep Kemprai, in-charge deputy director of Social Welfare, outlined the Commission’s efforts to uphold child rights and pledged continued support for such initiatives.
