DIBRUGARH, Oct 17: Likhan Baruah, former president of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Dibrugarh district, has been missing for the past 10 days.
Reports indicate that before his disappearance, Baruah wrote a four-page letter to his mother. The Rohmoria resident, under the Lahowal constituency in Dibrugarh, went missing around 10 days ago.
Baruah contested the 2021 Assam Assembly elections from the Lahowal constituency on an Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) ticket but did not win. He later joined the BJP during the parliamentary elections.
Dibrugarh superintendent of police Rakesh Reddy stated, “We have received a complaint regarding his disappearance and have begun our investigation. At this stage, we cannot ascertain anything, as the investigation is still in its early phase.”
