Mother kills infant in Sootea

BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 1: Sensation prevailed in and out of the greater Sootea on Saturday when the news of alleged killing of an infant girl child by her own mother spread like wildfire.

According to information, one Masida Khatoon (26), a resident of No 1 Adabheti under Sootea PS allegedly killed her 50 days old girl child Adinur Islam this morning by pressing her neck at her residence. The incident took place this morning. The family members and local residents came to know about the tragic incident at a later stage. The local residents spotted a blood stained body of the infant and immediately informed Sootea police. A team of Sootea police headed by Shyamal Jyoti Saikia officer in-charge reached the site and forwarded the alleged accused to the court and sent the body for autopsy. The accused mother has been sent to the jail, informed the police officer.
