Principal and Teachers Excellence Award ceremony organised in the city

GUWAHATI, July 1: Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, in association with International Education Consultancy, Assam, organised a “Principal and Teachers Excellence Award” function at a city hotel in Guwahati on Saturday.

The theme of the event was to honour the renowned and distinguished principals and teachers for their contribution to the field of education and research. DBU is committed to upliftment and encouragement of the guiding forces that are shaping the youth as responsible assets of the nation. On this occasion Dr Naseem Satar, scientist in Dairy and founder of Purabi Dairy was the chief guest of the event. Dr Harsh Sadawarti, vice president, DBU, Amit Kukreja, OSD to president, Dr Zia Ul Islam, founder, IEC and Zafrina Islam, general manager, IEC, was present in the event. Dr Harsh Sadawarti, congratulated all the principals and teachers for their contribution. He also said that teachers and principals are more than educators and are counsellors, mentors, role models, external parents, and so on to a student. There are many significant ways in which they provide a better understanding of life to help students for a better future. That’s why DBU provided a platform where the valuable contribution of teachers and principals can be acknowledged and appreciated so as to encourage them to continue working with dedication and commitment. More than 120 Academicians had attended the event.

Dr Harsh Sadawarti, vice president, also shared the information that a special scholarship scheme named as DBEST (Desh Bhagat University Entrance Scholarship Test) is offered by the University for the meritorious and needy students. Under DBEST, up to 100% scholarship is given to the students who clear the entrance test. With this initiative, DBU is paving the way to make education accessible and affordable. He emphasised that the university is carving its niche in the fields of higher education, research, sports, placements, innovation and entrepreneurship. Desh Bhagat University is providing various scholarships to promote education among the masses. Shakti Scholarships is being provided to girl students under ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’ initiative. The University also provides sports scholarships for the benefit and encouragement of the budding sportspersons. Scholarship worth more than 23 crores will be provided by the University in session 2023-24 to different categories.
