DIPHU, June 19: The Karbi Anglong Animal Welfare Society (KAAWS) has expressed deep concern over a recent video circulated on Facebook, allegedly showing the killing of a wild sloth.
The video, initially posted by a user under the name ‘Sing Jam Do,’ was later removed but has since sparked widespread outrage among wildlife activists and local residents.
In an official statement, KAAWS said the video had caused significant distress among wildlife lovers and responsible citizens in Karbi Anglong.
The organisation confirmed that it has preserved a copy of the video and related screenshots for evidence.
The organisation further mentioned that sources had linked the video to Disama, and identified the motorcycle in the footage as an X Pluse.
Appealing to the public, KAAWS urged individuals to speak out against such acts of cruelty and assist in identifying those responsible.
The organisation has called for appropriate action by the authorities to ensure justice and prevent future incidents of wildlife harm.
