SIVASAGAR, Dec 7: The Assam government, through an order (No 407743/5) dated Dec 5, 2023, has suspended Sanjib Bora, AFS, the accounts officer of Sivasagar Zila Parishd and the treasury officer (In Charge). This action follows reports from the district commissioner and Finance Department regarding his misdemeanour and misconduct towards the public, along with attending duties in an inebriated condition. The suspension is effective immediately, and Bora is restricted from leaving the headquarters without prior permission.
Mridul Das, leader of the SC Students’ body in Sivasagar, commended the vigilance of the government and the district commissioner, Himanta Biswa Sarma, in addressing corruption within the bureaucracy and other government employees.
