BTR chief Pramod Boro holds review meeting of the reception committee

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 10: Extensive preparations are underway at Jougalu Fwthar, Chandrapara in Kokrajhar district to host the 3rd triennial conference of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), which is set to begin from November 11 with a three-day long programme scheduled.

President of UPPL and Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member (CEM), Pramod Boro, MLA and chairman of reception committee of the conference, Lawrence Islary, chief convenor and BTR MCLA, Madhab Chetry visited the Jougalu Fwthar on Thursday to take stock about the ongoing preparation of the party conference and interacted with office bearers of reception committee and sub-committee’s members.

Boro held a review meeting of the reception committee held at conference venue. The meeting reviewed about the ongoing preparation and arrangements of the conference.

Party workers, reception committee and sub-committee’s office bearers are seen busy in their respective preparation and arrangements scheduled at the conference venue.

Notably, a strong reception committee has been formed with Kokrajhar East LAC MLA, Lawrence Islary as chairman and BTR MCLA, Madhab Chetry as chief convenor and along with various sub committees to conduct the party’s conference in a smooth success.

During the visit, Boro was accompanied with reception committee (RC) office bearers, Sidli MLA Jayanta Basumatary, and Bodoland Territorial Region executive member Daobaisa Boro, MCLA Pabitra Kumar Boro.

UPPL president, Boro inspected all corners of conference venue including main pandal, main gate, fooding hall, exhibition halls, delegate complex of the conference venue and appealed all party workers to render dedicatedly services to meet a smooth and grand success of the party’s conference.

He also held an interaction with party workers, reception committee official members as well local peoples regarding of holding the party conference in a grand manner.

He said that the party conference will be witnessed a grand gathering of party workers and well wishers that are participating from different districts of Bodoland Territorial Region.

He said that the party will have several rounds of delegate meeting where deep discussion will be held on various issues and developmental aspects.

Kokrajhar East LAC MLA and reception committee chairman, Lawrence Islary while addressing the reporters informed that more than 6,000 delegates from different districts of Bodoland Territorial Region are participating the delegate meeting.

He said that a grand cultural showcase and rally will also be carried out representing from different caste, creed and communities across the districts of Bodoland Territorial Region.

Chief minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is attending as chief guest on the opening session of the concluding day of the conference on November 13.

Assam State BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, Asom Gana Parishad president and Assam cabinet minister, Atul Bora, Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia are attending as special guests in the event.
