GUWAHATI, February 2025: ELECRAMA 2025, the world’s largest electrical exhibition, commenced at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, marking a significant step in India’s journey toward becoming a global leader in energy innovation. Organized by the Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA), the event aligns with the country’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, reinforcing India’s commitment to energy security, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.
The grand opening was attended by Union Minister of Power and Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, who underscored India’s focus on modernizing its grid infrastructure and expanding clean energy solutions. He emphasized the nation’s ambition to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2027 and a fully developed nation by 2047, with the power sector playing a key role in this transformation. He highlighted India’s progress in renewable energy, citing the installation of 200 GW of renewable capacity and the target of 500 GW by 2030. The push for electric vehicle infrastructure and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, he noted, will accelerate India’s transition to a clean energy future.
The event brought together global industry leaders, including Oliver Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric, and Matthias Rebellius, CEO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Blum praised India’s robust manufacturing capabilities and its growing role in the global energy landscape, stating that AI, data centers, and industrial growth are driving demand for advanced energy solutions. Rebellius echoed this sentiment, emphasizing how India is at a crucial juncture in digitalization and clean energy adoption.
IEEMA President Sunil Singhvi highlighted India’s emergence as a global hub for EV manufacturing and sustainable energy solutions. He noted that India has already achieved 210 GW of renewable energy and is well on track to reaching 500 GW by 2030. Singhvi also pointed to the country’s growing influence in global supply chains, stressing the importance of upskilling, fostering startups, and enhancing market access.
Vikram Gandotra, Chairman of ELECRAMA 2025, described the event as a major platform for innovation and collaboration, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the “Make in India” initiative. With over 1,100 exhibitors, 400,000 business visitors, and an estimated USD 20 billion in business inquiries, this edition of ELECRAMA is expected to be a landmark event in the global power sector.
Several key industry events are set to take place during ELECRAMA 2025. The Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) will facilitate business connections between Indian suppliers and 500 international buyers from Africa, ASEAN, CIS, WANA, and NAFTA regions. Meanwhile, the Domestic Buyer-Seller Meet (DBSM) will open new business opportunities within India. The World Utility Summit will focus on energy transition and future utility trends, while eTechnxt will showcase advancements in AI, automation, and Industry 4.0. The ElectraVerse Spark Startup Challenge will highlight groundbreaking energy solutions from startups, and the Innovation Awards & Tech Showcase will recognize cutting-edge advancements in the sector.
The event also aims to promote diversity and workforce development through initiatives like the Women in Power Pavilion, which will celebrate female leadership in the energy sector. Additionally, the Skills & Workforce Development Pavilion will emphasize upskilling and training to meet the evolving demands of the industry.
Following the inauguration, dignitaries toured the exhibition, engaging with 51 startups presenting their latest technological advancements. With participation from over 1,000 exhibitors and leading industry players, ELECRAMA 2025 is set to be the largest gathering of electrical industry professionals, reinforcing India’s position as a hub for energy innovation and economic growth.
