The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in association with the Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) organised an awareness program on ‘Millet Exports Cum Buyer Seller Meet’ on Wednesday, in NeDFI Convention Center at Guwahati.

Sunita Rai, regional head-NER, APEDA in her welcome speech informed the United Nations General Assembly adoption of an India-sponsored resolution to mark 2023 as the International Year of Millets. India is among the top 5 exporters of millet in the world. The world export of millet has increased from USD 400 million in 2020 to USD 470 million in 2021.
