It may be mentioned here that Karbi Anglong Police had earlier arrested two persons in connection with Tissopi’s murder. The names of the previously arrested individuals were disclosed on Tuesday by superintendent of police Karbi Anglong, Sanjib Kumar Saikia, in a press briefing at his official chamber here. The names are Mukrang Terang and Rangsina Rongpi.

The SP said that the interrogation of the two arrested individuals led to the arrest of a third person involved in the murder, identified as Probin Rongpi.

The SP further informed that, according to the statements of the arrested persons, it was found that Mukrang Terang’s father and late Tissopi had an illicit relationship, which led to disputes in the family. Unable to bear the family disputes arising from the intimate relationship between his father and Tissopi, Mukrang developed a plan to eliminate Tissopi by hiring a killer.

To execute the plan, Mukrang purchased a pistol from Dimapur to murder Tissopi. According to the plan, the two accomplices entered Tissopi’s house in the early hours of June 11 and shot her to death at point-blank range.
