KOKRAJHAR, Oct 20: In a significant move to promote the Bodo film industry and support aspiring filmmakers, Pramod Boro, the Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Jalako (Tikendrajit Narzary) Memorial Digital Cinema Hall in Runikhata, Chirang district. This initiative is part of the BTR government’s efforts to boost the Bodo cinema world in the region.
Jalako (Tikendrajit Narzary) was a prominent Bodo film actor, and this digital cinema hall is named in his honor. The BTR government is committed to promoting and uplifting the Bodo film industry to showcase the region’s culture and language.
CEM Boro emphasized the government’s dedication to supporting the Bodo film industry and highlighted that several digital cinema halls in the name of Jalako will be constructed across the entire Bodoland region. This initiative aims to provide a platform for aspiring filmmakers to showcase their work and nurture local talent, fostering creativity and artistic expression in the region.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including MP Rwngwra Narzary, MLA Lawrence Islary, and BTR Executive Member Dhananjay Basumatary.
