DIBRUGARH, March 23:Â Around 90 G20 delegates from different countries arrived in Dibrugarh on Thursday by flight. The delegates were given a warm welcome at Mohanbari Airport, Dibrugarh by traditional phulam gamucha and dances by cultural troops.
Dibrugarh deputy commissioner Biswajit Pegu, superintendent of police Shwetank Mishra and other officials of Dibrugarh district administration were present at the airport to welcome the G20 guests.
The delegates visited three tea gardens namely Manohari tea estate, Ethelwold tea estate and Mancotta tea estate.
On Friday, the 103 delegates will participate in the G20 summit to be held at Manohari tea estate banquet hall in Dibrugarh.
There are 20 members in the group: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.
Building a sustainable and circular bio-economy is set to be discussed at the G20 RIIG conference on Friday.
The G20 RIIG conference is coordinated by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, government of India.
