KMCH gets AC Bus strengthening healthcare infrastructure in BTR

Aimed to ensure better connectivity for students, faculty, and staff of the medical college

KOKRAJHAR, March 5: In a significant step towards strengthening BTR’s medical infrastructure, a 24-seater air-conditioned bus was officially handed over to Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital(KMCH) on Wednesday by the Speaker of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly, Kati Ram Boro, and EM, transport department, BTR, Ranendra Basumatary.

The initiative, undertaken by the BTR CEM, Pramod Boro, aimed to ensure better connectivity for students, faculty, and staff of the medical college. The addition of the new bus would enhance daily transportation convenience and contribute to the overall efficiency of medical education and healthcare services in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Speaker, Kati Ram Boro and EM Ranendra Narzary, urged the students to focus on their studies and contribute to society upon completing their course.

Earlier, the Principal of KMCH welcomed all dignitaries, faculty, students, and staff, expressing gratitude to the BTR Government, particularly BTC Chief Pramod Boro and  EM Ranendra Narzary, for providing the much-needed bus. He noted that this long-awaited facility will support student visits to field hospitals and academic activities.

The handing-over ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Joyanta Basumatary, MP; Lawrence Islary, MLA; Madhab Ch Chetry, MCLA; Uttam Brahma, OSD to CEM, BTR, along with joint secretary, transport, Ractim Buragohain, joint commisioner of transport, BTC, D Chakraborty; DTO, Kokrajhar, Dhajen Basumatary, faculties, staff & students of KMCH, among others.
