SIVASAGAR, June 17: Sivasagar District Magistrate Ayush Garg has promulgated Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), imposing restrictions to prevent any potential disturbance to public peace and tranquility across the district.

According to an official order issued on Monday, the prohibitory measures bar the assembly of five or more persons in public places, restrict the movement of unauthorised individuals within 200 metres of government-protected historical monuments, and prohibit effigy burning, demonstrations, destruction of public property, and unauthorised collection of funds or subscriptions.
