DIPHU, Feb 24: A live webcast programme showing release of 19th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi Yojana was organised by the department of agriculture at respective ADO circles in Karbi Anglong on Monday.
The release of installment of PM-KISAN was telecast live from Bhagalpur in Bihar.
The agriculture department invited the farmers to grace the occasion with their presence and make it a grand success. There are 24,451 farmers in Karbi Anglong district who would receive the 19th installment.
The 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was released on Monday, at the programme organised at the Krishi Bhawan in Haflong. Ceremonially witnessing the live telecast of the 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a significant event, to the landholder farmers organised by the department of agriculture.
A total of 20,685 farmers were benefitted under this scheme, eligible land-holding farmer families received Rs 6,000 per year, disbursed in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. These funds are transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts every four months, ensuring timely financial assistance for their agricultural needs.
The event also included a one-day Kisan Mela organised by the department of agriculture along with other allied sector at Krishi Bhawan, Haflong. The programme was graced by district commissioner Simanta Kr Das, ACS as chief guest. In-charge principal secretary of DHAC Partha Sarathi Jahari, ACS; Amritlal Narzary, DAO; Rasmita Saikia, KVK scientist and Amarjit Mangang, assistant general manager, NABARD were also present in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion Das provided an excellent perspective, recognising and congratulating all the beneficiaries and citing the significance of the PM-KISAN scheme and its impact on farmers’ lives. He emphasised on the importance of marketing and training for farmers, especially in village areas, highlighting a crucial aspect of agricultural development. He also ensured that farmers must have proper knowledge about government schemes, facilities and the necessary documentation is vital for their accessibility and success.
