DIPHU, Jan 7: A Soil Health Card Advisory meeting was held on Tuesday in Hogolakota Village in Langsomepi Block and Rajpur Village in Howraghat Block.
The meeting was held to discuss and explain to the farmers the uses and benefits of having the soil tested and obtaining the soil health cards.
The problems that can be caused due to deficiencies of elements in the soil and how these problems can be tackled after testing were also discussed.
The farmers will know how much fertilizer they need to apply to the soil.
The (DNO) District Nodal Officer of Soil Health Card Bandana Saikia led the team.
She was accompanied by Assistant Soil Chemist, Soil Testing Lab, Ankita Das; Diphu, AEA (Agriculture Extension Assistant), Nirmal Chiangmai and Bikrom Singh Engti and Octopus Agency Worker, Mirjeng Ronghang.
Mirjeng Ronghang , the Octopus Agency worker was the resource person for the Soil Health Card and explained the various benefits of having a Soil Health Card to the farmers, providing awareness, guidance and promise of consistent help and support in this regard.
Around 50 farmers were present in both the locations.
