GUWAHATI, June 17: In a heartwarming act of compassion and service, over 100 cadets from 30 Assam Battalion NCC rolled up their sleeves and donated blood during a special camp held at Army Public School, Narangi, marking International Blood Donor Day.

Organised in collaboration with Guwahati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH&H), the camp was a testament to the power of youth-led service and the NCC’s continued commitment to the community beyond the parade ground.

Leading by example, Col S Anup Singh, Commanding Officer of 30 Assam Battalion NCC, encouraged the cadets to make blood donation a lifelong habit. “Donating blood is one of the most selfless acts one can do. You never know whose life you might be saving,” he shared with the young donors.

The medical team, led by Dr Dipankar Talukdar, ensured that every cadet was guided and cared for throughout the process, making the experience smooth and reassuring for first-time donors.

For many cadets, this was not just a camp but a deeply personal experience—a moment of pride and purpose. It was a reminder that small actions, like donating a unit of blood, can have life-changing consequences for someone in need.

As the day ended, the message was loud and clear: service to humanity is the truest form of patriotism, and these cadets have already taken a strong step in that direction.
