MARGHERITA, Feb 15: Dibrugarh Lok Sabha Constituency’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate, Manoj Dhanowar, conducted a campaign and party meeting in Ledo, falling under the 83rd Margherita Constituency of Tinsukia district. He received a warm welcome from AAP workers and leaders during his visit.
Addressing the media in Margherita, Manoj Dhanowar stated that the AAP high command has selected three candidates to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Assam, and he has been chosen to contest from the 14th Dibrugarh Lok Sabha Constituency. He expressed confidence that the people would cast their valuable votes in favour of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Anindita Goswami, former senior BJP leader of Margherita and president of BJP Mahila Morcha Tinsukia district committee, announced her resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She criticised the BJP, stating that it has become a fascist, communal, and dictatorial party, with senior BJP leaders being sidelined and insulted. Goswami emphasised the need to bid farewell to the BJP from the country, likening it to the Indian National Congress as two sides of the same coin.
Anita Das Mahanta, former Asom Gana Parishad leader and current AAP leader, highlighted the increase in illegal activities in the 83rd Margherita Constituency, emphasising the importance of voting for the Aam Aadmi Party to address such issues.
The campaign event saw the presence of over a hundred AAP members, workers, and leaders, demonstrating the party’s strong support in the region.
