Woman’s body found in pond at Gohain Gaon village under Hawaipur in West Karbi Anglong district

KHERONI, June 18: The body of a woman was found floating in a pond at Gohain Gaon village under Hawaipur in West Karbi Anglong district on Wednesday morning.

A local resident discovered the body and immediately alerted the police.

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident.

The body was later sent to Diphu for post-mortem examination.

According to sources, the woman was last seen around 9 pm on Tuesday night and had prepared dinner before her disappearance.

Her husband, a daily wage labourer, informed police that his wife had been mentally unstable.
